Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry

Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry
Tender beef, crisp broccoli, and a rich savory sauce — a classic Asian-inspired dish that’s faster, healthier, and better than takeout! 😋🥦
Ingredients (Serves 2–3):
400g beef (flank steak or sirloin), thinly sliced
3 cups broccoli florets
3 tbsp soy sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp fresh ginger, minced
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 tbsp sesame oil
½ cup water or beef broth
1 tsp vegetable oil (for cooking)
Cooked jasmine or basmati rice, for serving
Instructions:

  1. Prepare the beef
Slice the beef thinly against the grain. Toss with cornstarch until evenly coated. This helps keep the beef tender and juicy.
  2. Sear the beef
Heat vegetable oil and sesame oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat.
Add the beef in a single layer and sear for 2–3 minutes until nicely browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. Stir-fry the broccoli
In the same pan, add garlic and ginger. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Add broccoli and stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp.
  4. Make the sauce
In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, and beef broth.
Return the beef to the pan, pour in the sauce, and cook for 1–2 minutes until glossy and thickened.
  5. Serve
Serve immediately over steamed rice and drizzle with extra sauce.
    Chef’s Tips:
For extra flavor, add a splash of oyster sauce.
Like it spicy? Add chili flakes or sriracha.
Don’t overcrowd the pan—this keeps the beef nicely seared.
✨ A perfectly balanced dish: tender beef, crisp vegetables, and a silky savory sauce — ready in under 20 minutes!
