Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry
Tender beef, crisp broccoli, and a rich savory sauce — a classic Asian-inspired dish that’s faster, healthier, and better than takeout! 😋🥦
Ingredients (Serves 2–3):
400g beef (flank steak or sirloin), thinly sliced
3 cups broccoli florets
3 tbsp soy sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp fresh ginger, minced
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 tbsp sesame oil
½ cup water or beef broth
1 tsp vegetable oil (for cooking)
Cooked jasmine or basmati rice, for serving
Instructions:
- Prepare the beef
Slice the beef thinly against the grain. Toss with cornstarch until evenly coated. This helps keep the beef tender and juicy. - Sear the beef
Heat vegetable oil and sesame oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat.
Add the beef in a single layer and sear for 2–3 minutes until nicely browned. Remove and set aside. - Stir-fry the broccoli
In the same pan, add garlic and ginger. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Add broccoli and stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. - Make the sauce
In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, and beef broth.
Return the beef to the pan, pour in the sauce, and cook for 1–2 minutes until glossy and thickened. - Serve
Serve immediately over steamed rice and drizzle with extra sauce.
Chef’s Tips:
For extra flavor, add a splash of oyster sauce.
Like it spicy? Add chili flakes or sriracha.
Don’t overcrowd the pan—this keeps the beef nicely seared.
✨ A perfectly balanced dish: tender beef, crisp vegetables, and a silky savory sauce — ready in under 20 minutes!
