Savory Garlic-Ginger Beef & Cabbage Stir-Fry
(Beef & Cabbage Stir-Fry with Sesame and Chili Oil)
Ingredients:
- 1 lb (450 g) beef flank or sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
- 4 cups green cabbage, shredded
- 1 medium carrot, julienned
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp chili oil (optional)
Instructions:
MARINATE THE BEEF
In a bowl, combine:
- Soy sauce
- Oyster sauce
- Sesame oil
- Cornstarch
Add the sliced beef and mix well.
Let it marinate for 15–20 minutes.
COOK THE BEEF
- Heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add the beef in a single layer (cook in batches if needed).
- Stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until browned and just cooked through.
- Remove from pan and set aside.
STIR-FRY THE VEGETABLES
- Add remaining 1 tbsp oil to the pan.
- Add garlic and ginger, sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add cabbage and carrot.
- Stir-fry for 3–4 minutes until slightly softened but still crisp.
COMBINE EVERYTHING
- Return beef to the pan.
- Add rice vinegar and chili oil (if using).
- Toss everything together and cook for another 1–2 minutes.
- Stir in sliced green onions.
Serving Suggestions:
- Serve hot over steamed white rice or brown rice.
- Also delicious with noodles.
- Sprinkle extra sesame seeds on top for garnish if desired.

Tips:
- Slice beef very thin for tender results.
- Don’t overcook cabbage — it should stay slightly crisp.
- Adjust chili oil depending on how spicy you like it.
