 Savory Garlic-Ginger Beef & Cabbage Stir-Fry

(Beef & Cabbage Stir-Fry with Sesame and Chili Oil)

 Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450 g) beef flank or sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 4 cups green cabbage, shredded
  • 1 medium carrot, julienned
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp chili oil (optional)

 Instructions:

 MARINATE THE BEEF

In a bowl, combine:

  • Soy sauce
  • Oyster sauce
  • Sesame oil
  • Cornstarch

Add the sliced beef and mix well.
Let it marinate for 15–20 minutes.


 COOK THE BEEF

  • Heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  • Add the beef in a single layer (cook in batches if needed).
  • Stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until browned and just cooked through.
  • Remove from pan and set aside.

 STIR-FRY THE VEGETABLES

  • Add remaining 1 tbsp oil to the pan.
  • Add garlic and ginger, sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add cabbage and carrot.
  • Stir-fry for 3–4 minutes until slightly softened but still crisp.

 COMBINE EVERYTHING

  • Return beef to the pan.
  • Add rice vinegar and chili oil (if using).
  • Toss everything together and cook for another 1–2 minutes.
  • Stir in sliced green onions.

 Serving Suggestions:

  • Serve hot over steamed white rice or brown rice.
  • Also delicious with noodles.
  • Sprinkle extra sesame seeds on top for garnish if desired.

 Total Time:

About 30 minutes

 Tips:

  • Slice beef very thin for tender results.
  • Don’t overcook cabbage — it should stay slightly crisp.
  • Adjust chili oil depending on how spicy you like it.
